ClientUnity for SharePoint

ClientUnity for SharePoint is a complete solution that allows you to find, access, and manipulate information within an external repository from within SharePoint. This is accomplished without any intrusion on the existing system, without re-indexing content, and without expensive and time-consuming migration. Simply install the product and start accessing your existing content immediately.

Within SharePoint, ClientUnity provides the user interaction through 4 connectable Web Parts. As shown in the screenshot below, the profile tree and profile form/results parts allow real-time searching and result list access. Simply select the searchable item (i.e. profile) in the tree, enter the criteria in the form, and perform the search. In this case, the native Hummingbird form is presented as the search form.

In a similar way, for repositories that expose information as a hierarchy (workspaces, public folders, recently edited, saved searches, etc...), ClientUnity includes 2 additional parts, one for selecting the hierarchy within the repository and another for accessing the content list.

Consistent with the user interface for SharePoint document libraries, once a document, folder, or some other item in a repository is identified, various actions can be exposed using context-sensitive, drop-down menus. The exact makeup of these menus will be different depending on the specific repository and functionality available.

This very simple yet intuitive user interface, and in fact the same set of web parts, work with every supported repository. Depending on the type of item (document, folder, underlying system, etc...) the context menus will be different exposing the user to specific functionality while still working within a unified client.
